Next February, Norwegian Cruise Line will take delivery of Norwegian Breakaway’s sister-ship, Norwegian Getaway. To be home-ported year round in Miami, Norwegian Getaway is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyards in Papenburg, Germany.
The new ship will differ from her sister ships: Rather than just having some slightly modified physical characteristics, like different artwork adorning her bow, Norwegian Getaway will have entirely new entertainment offerings.
As with the Blue Man Group aboard Norwegian Epic and The Rockettes aboard Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Getaway will have its own distinctive headlining act: the seven-time Tony Award nominated musical Legally Blonde.
In announcing the new entertainment, Norwegian Cruise Line President & CEO Kevin Sheehan noted that the success of the Blue Man Group aboard Norwegian Epic had been instrumental in securing legitimate Broadway performances, many of whom would have been unlikely to consider such a partnership with a cruise line before — for fear it might damage their brand. Now, he said, Broadway is coming to Norwegian and not the other way around.
Another noteworthy addition is the inclusion of Levity Entertainment Group, which will replace The Second City aboard Norwegian Getaway. With Levity, 12 comedy shows will be offered per week. While no details were given on who would participate, the company’s client roster is loaded with notable performers like Daniel Tosh, Amy Schumer and puppeteer Jeff Dunham.
The line also revealed that Burn the Floor will have an expanded role aboard Norwegian Getaway, with a decidedly Latin American flair in a nod to the ship’s future homeport of Miami. We had the chance to see a bit of what Burn the Floor can do with its re-invented ballroom dancing, and it is spectacular. In fact, a couple seated in front of me remarked on how much it would have cost them to see something similar on Broadway in Manhattan. — Aaron Saunders

We left Miami at 4:00 PM on a Saturday, and were at sea all day Sunday and Monday. We were also at sea from 7:00 PM Wednesday to noon on Friday. So there was LOTS of time for the casino.
They had 2 craps tables, and both were in use every day. On most cruises, I am the only daily craps player, and most of my time is spent alone. Not this cruise! There were times I could not get on either table.
$10 tables all the time
3-4-5x odds
$500 Max bet
2x on Field 2 & 12
Vig up front for the Buy and Lay bets
I met the world's grumpiest craps player, Herman. This was an honor bestowed on him by all of the dealers and the other players. The guy bitched about everything. He would yell at any player who would say his point number, as in 'come on shooter, make the 9.' He even yelled at the stick for saying 'The point is 9.' He would stop his roll if anything bothered him, carp about how stupid the other player was, then pick up the dice, and 7 out. And then bitch more.
He had this betting scheme where he would press other bets with his wins, so every time he got paid, it would be mass confusion while he tried to make the dealer understand what he wanted done with his money. He screwed up the flow on every table he would step into, and then complain about how choppy and slow the dealers were. The dumbest move he made though, came when there were only 3 of us on the table. Herman and I on one side, and a big bettor on the other side, who was max betting the place bets most of the time. He is throwing, and is on a good roll. Payouts are coming quick, the dice are moving, we are making money. All of a sudden Herman yells at the stick to stop pushing the dice out so fast. Now big bettor has a bunch of dealer bets up, so stick wants nothing to do with Herman. He continues to let the dice go. Herman gets the Casino manager, and demands that he tells the stick to not push out the dice so fast. Big bettor 7's out shortly after, and I thought the dealers were going to attack Herman.
For Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I could not do much on my rolls. Actually, I sucked. Our oldest daughter was with us, so I taught her and her husband how to play, on my money of course. On Monday afternoon, it was just me and the big bettor at opposite ends, with my daughter throwing. She went on a heater. Big bettor got back the $10,000 he was down. I was slow to press and only got back $1100. At the end of her roll, the big bettor tossed her a $100 tip. I was playing along side him later that night, and said he made my daughter's day with the tip. He was surprised to hear she was my daughter, and said that he had decided just before her 7 out, if she rolled for 10 more minutes, he was going to give her a purple chip instead! Super nice guy.
I was down $1700 before she went on her roll, and then lost $500 later that night to be down $1100 going into Tuesday. I did not play until Wednesday night, but finally made a few good rolls, and got back $400. I was on a gambling roll. Every game I played, I made money. $.25 video poker, win. Ultimate Texas Hold'em, win. $10 BJ, win. Stupid slot machine next to wife, win.
On Thursday I got on a craps tear. Playing on a table by myself, I bet $32 across for the dealers, and $54 across for me. I had the dealers press 1 unit ($5 or $6) each time, and I was doing a $10 press. When the roll ended, the dealers had $375 sitting in front of the toke box. And man were they happy. I was now +$2400 for the trip. But that was my last hurrah, unfortunately.
Bought in later that night for $700, and was down to last $100, when I decided to go dark side. I got a little back on a cold table, and drove everyone away. So I started rolling from the Don't, and it turns out I am pretty damn good from the Don't. LOL
The dealers ranged from okay to good. There were 2 break-in dealers that were pretty bad though. With all of the dealers you had to watch the pays, but especially the 2 break-ins. Quite a few missed pays, and some amount mistakes. And communication was pretty difficult with the heavy accents, but that is fairly standard on cruise ships.

Good to hear you had a good time so far. All it take is one player like the guy below to kill any craps game!

That's why when you're in Vegas, you get to see me playing some very weird hours to get away from players like Herman!
The trouble with being on a cruise ship, is you can't escape them type of players. They have a way of showing up every time you get on a roll. It's one of the reasons I tell anybody that wants to stand a chance of winning at craps, to book your trip during the week.
Don't book trips, during Super Bowl, or March Madness or the weekends. Because of all the Herman's you will find at the craps tables! Sometimes you set your own destiny when you play craps at the wrong time of day.
After seeing your play here in Vegas, I know with your betting skills you stand a very good chance of winning when you're at the tables. Sometimes you are a lot better off to let the Herman's in the world shoot themselves in the foot by Staying off the table, and letting them lose, before you start playing! Usually it doesn't take too long for them the blow through their bankroll. Then you have clears sailing, to hit your Win Goal.

will read your blog later. Very tricky to keep me in suspense!
how, exactly does a guys attitude effect how much money you win or lose.
For someone standing on the other side of the table it doesn't, but if your the guy that has his money on the line, and you have someone like that guy agitating everyone else on the table there is no sense of you playing.
Every table that I have been on that has had a great roll has always had what I would call a good flow. The game gets a good rhythm. Roll the dice, bets are paid off, presses happen with little fuss, the dice are pushed out, and the sequence repeats.
I can recall only one time, when I had my 70 minute roll, where the other end of the table was fighting over their hop bets on every one of my rolls over the last 20 minutes. But I was experiencing a weird floating experience (not drug induced), and you could have been sticking me with a hot fork and I would not have cared.
So yes, a guy who is argumentative, and disrupts the flow of the game, does have a negative affect on the game.
I am not saying it causes more 7 outs though.
I was playing by myself on the cruise and was having a miserable night shooting dice. So I shot from the Don't Pass, and managed to not make a point for 5 straight tries, made a point, and then went right back to more 7 out strings. The rhythm of the game was good. Then a drunk showed up, the game got all chopped up, and it was just lose, lose, lose.
Watch a pit where there are 4 or 5 tables in play. You will see guys with sour pusses moving from table to table. As soon as they hear some cheering, they run to that table, and of course, that table then dies. I can't explain, but I have seen it over and over.

RaleighCraps: why didn't you introduce yourself to me? I didn't know you were taking the cruise also.Break in dealers are always to be watched carefully. Some have bad habits and some will develop bad habits if you allow them to, but casinos do have to hire people with less experience sometimes. Even the Venetian, said to be the top notch craps place in Vegas, has hired some less experienced dealers and put them a slow daytime table to start out. I like the new dealer situation sometimes because I often play prior to the free coffee having kicked in and I can make good use of the leisurely pace. A good craps team will remember that it is a team effort and keep an extra eye peeled on the new guy's end just so he doesn't get constantly run over or belittled.

ha ha Flea. I wasn't going to use his name, but there is no way that guy hangs out here, and you would have to get much grumpier to even have a chance at claiming you are he. ;-)
why though, i play all the time....a guy could shit in the rail, I wouldn't even notice.....how does anyones attitude effect your bottom line. How does 'knowledge and skill when you are betting' help you in a negative expectation game????
